Junooniyat is a 2016 Indian feature film written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film stars Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam, Gulshan Devaiah, and Richa Chadda in leading roles. The soundtrack was composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire. It is a dark-comedy based on the Gujarati folktale translated by Ramsaran. The story revolves around a young couple, Milind and Jyoti. In limbo since their wedding, they wander from city to city along with their two children, Ravi and Ayaan. Milind has been put on the hit list of a local gangster due to some petty dispute he had with him years ago. As time goes on, they start searching for a place where they can settle down and raise their children in peace without being threatened by gangsters or other people on the run from the law. The film was released on 3 September 2016. Milind (Pulkit Samrat) and Jyoti (Yami Gautam) are a young couple who get married and settle down in Ahmedabad, Gujarat after long back-and-forth. However, their married life is disturbed by the reappearance of Milind's old enemy, Babu Shetty, and his goons. The story takes a turn when the couple gets involved in a murder and then decides to leave Ahmedabad with their two kids Ayaan (Master Shreyas) and Ravi (Master Adhish Sharma). They disregard all police warnings to leave town immediately. They travel to various cities in search for a new place to settle down. On the way, they encounter many problems that force them to finally take refuge in an illegal place known as Chotila. There, they receive help from the local leader of the smugglers and learn that they are in constant trouble because of Babu Shetty's gangster activities. Gradually, the couple's life becomes routine and easy which allows them time to raise their kids Ayaan and Ravi. However, when Babu Shetty shows up with his men. Jyoti is heart-broken when she learns that she lost another child she had named Aayush (Master Shriya). She refuses to leave the smugglers' settlement and watches helplessly as Babu Shetty, his men and his goons take the children hostage. Eventually, Milind and Jyoti also learn that their kids have been taken hostage. The couple decides to escape from Chotila and come up with a plan to rescue them from Babu Shetty's clutches. They hatch a plan where they pretend that Babu Shetty has arrived at their settlement in search for their wives who have been kidnapped by Iqbal, a smuggler whom Mehta, the leader of Chotila's settlement, had trusted to guard them. cfa1e77820
