Rajamouli. It is the first Indian film to be shot completely in digital 3D and was filmed simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages on a estimated budget of ₹350 crore (US$50 million). It was released globally on 10 April 2016.[4] Its sequel is scheduled to release on 28 April 2018. The film had a worldwide opening of about ₹2,500 crore (US$350 million), making it the second-highest opener worldwide, the third highest grossing Indian film worldwide, and the second highest-grossing south Indian film ever. The Hindi version of the film released on 28 May 2016 at around 10 AM,[5]alongside with its dubbed versions in Telugu and Tamil.[6] The Telugu version was released on 27 May 2016 at around 9:30AM. It has become one of the highest grossing films of all time in India as well as abroad. The plot is based on two legendary South Indian projects (Mahabharata and Ramayana) by BR Sheikhs. The film grossed over ₹5,000 crore (US$750 million) worldwide in ten days. It is the first film to gross over ₹1000 crore (₹108 billion) and ₹2000 (₹220 billion) in India and overseas respectively.
